The Skull King makes some friends at the bottom of the sea. I drew it in a lot more detail than you can really make out in this size.
Here is a full size version (without shading, which is done at a low resolution and looks really weird and distracting up close). I think my process could use some tweaking, but I think after this issue I’m just going to do single color shading.

reminds me of that Planet Earth where all those crazy crabs eat that whale carcass in time-lapse and it’s positively inSANE. and an angelfish! crazy ol’ sea creatures!
Yeah I was thinking about that particular scene a lot while drawing this, actually! That and Hayao Miyazaki’s latest movie, Ponyo. The opening scene has a ton of swarming aquatic arthropods like these guys.
